Terms of Use

• 2.1You must be at least 18 years old to use the Platform.
• 2.2You must provide accurate, current, and complete information when creating an Account.
• 2.3Accounts are personal, non-transferable, and must not be shared.
• 2.4You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials and all activity under your Account.

• 3.3Service Providers act as independent contractors — not employees, agents, or partners of Skillspotter.

4.1 Booking Services

• Service Users may browse, request, and book services via the Platform.
• All bookings are subject to availability and acceptance by Service Providers.

4.2 User Responsibilities

Service Users agree to:

• Provide accurate service details and locations.
• Ensure safe and reasonable access for Service Providers.
• Treat Service Providers respectfully and lawfully.

4.3 Cancellations

• Cancellation policies are displayed at the time of booking.
• Late cancellations or no-shows may result in fees.

5.1 Provider Eligibility

Service Providers must:

• Be legally permitted to provide the listed services in the UK.
• Hold all required licences, permits, insurance, or certifications.
• Provide truthful and accurate profile information.

5.2 Provider Responsibilities

Service Providers agree to:

• Perform services professionally, safely, and as described.
• Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
• Maintain valid insurance where required.
• Arrive on time and communicate promptly with Service Users.

5.3 Independent Contractor Status

Service Providers acknowledge they:

• Operate independently.
• Are solely responsible for taxes, insurance, and legal compliance.
• Are not entitled to employee benefits from Skillspotter.

6.1 Payment Processing

• All payments are processed via Stripe, our third-party payment processor.
• Skillspotter does not store payment card details.

6.2 Escrow Arrangement

Funds paid by Service Users may be held in escrow via Stripe until:

• The service is completed; or
• A dispute or cancellation is resolved.

Release of Funds is subject to Stripe's terms and verification rules.

6.3 Fees & Deductions

• Platform fees and payment processing fees may be deducted before release to Service Providers.
• Applicable fees are disclosed prior to booking.

6.4 Refunds

• 7.1Users may leave reviews after completed services.
• 7.2Reviews must be honest, lawful, and non-abusive.
• 7.3Skillspotter reserves the right to remove reviews that violate these Terms.

Users must not:

• Use the Platform for unlawful purposes.
• Harass, abuse, or threaten others.
• Submit false, misleading, or fraudulent information.
• Attempt to bypass the Platform's payment system.

• 9.1All Platform content, trademarks, software, and branding belong to Skillspotter or its licensors.
• 9.2Users are granted a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose.

Skillspotter may suspend or terminate Accounts at any time for:

• Breach of these Terms.
• Fraud, abuse, or unlawful activity.

• 10.2Upon termination, access to the Platform will cease immediately.

• 11.2Nothing in these Terms limits liability where prohibited by UK law.

You agree to indemnify and hold Skillspotter harmless from claims arising from:

• Your use of the Platform.
• Your breach of these Terms.
• Your services or conduct.

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Platform after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
